Mythology and Symbolism behind Asanas

Yoga philosophy is very often enunciated through stories from Indian Mythology. Some of the Asana names and poses have deep symbolism associated with them. For asana practitioners, thinking about the symbolism when doing the asana adds subtler dimensions to the practice.
